About us

MHI Brands was founded in 1986 in the family basement in Addison, Illinois. Originally starting out with a single item designed to provide a product solution to an every day problem, the company has grown to include over sixty products across three brands. In 1992 the family relocated to Wichita, Kansas and the business has remained there since.

The first of these brands, Mommy’s Helper Inc., grew out of the typical family environment experiencing the same issue as most parents trying to raise their children: Too many problems…not enough solutions. Since 1986 we have strived to have innovative product solutions to address those everyday problems. Every day, we dedicate ourselves and our product selections to this philosophy for the modern lifestyles of today’s parents.

In 2005, MHI Brands developed the Safe-er-Grip Balance Assist Bar Line. Using suction cup technology, the line was invented and designed for mobility, safety, and convenience. Originally the line consisted of a 12 inch and a 16 inch bar, but now includes ten bar styles and several bathroom accessories. Built with superior quality, they provide safety and convenience for changing lifestyles.

Our final brand, Maloney StageGear Covers, was designed in conjunction with musicians and retail professionals alike. Our inspiration came directly from touring music industry professionals citing a gap in the music industry where instrument covers were concerned. They referenced a product from our Mommy’s Helper line as the brainstorm idea for these products. We all witnessed the instant success of the concept for both indoor and outdoor use.
